The challenge
A mature technology estate contained legacy frameworks, applications and components that created increasing maintenance, security and engineering productivity risks.

The organisation needed to modernise without introducing unnecessary operational or customer risk.
My role
Led and influenced modernisation strategy, architecture decisions, prioritisation and technical-risk management while ensuring business-critical capabilities continued operating throughout the transformation.
The decision
Avoid unnecessary big-bang rewrites. Identify highest-risk technology, prioritise by business and engineering impact, and modernise incrementally.
Philosophy
Modernisation is not about chasing new technology. It is about deliberately reducing constraints on the organisation.
